Report – Man Utd could bid £45.2m in final hours to secure signing

Moise Kean Fiorentina

Manchester United face a mini Deadline-day situation today as they continue to work against the clock to secure a transfer target whose release clause expires today.

It has been very evident since the beginning of the transfer window that one of Ruben Amorim’s priorities is signing a new striker for the club.

News – Man Utd have now agreed deals with £69.5m star and club for signing – Report

It is understandable considering how frustrating Rasmus Hojlund was last season. The Danish striker was signed to much expectation from Atalanta a couple of seasons ago, but inconsistency has plagued the young number nine during his time so far at Old Trafford.

One player that Man Utd have been linked with as a reinforcement is Fiorentina star Moise Kean.

Now, as per Corriere dello Sport, the Red Devils could bid £45.2m to secure the signing of the ex-Juventus striker in the final hours. It is worth noting that the release clause in his contract expires tonight.

Kean’s release clause has been active since July 1 and Man Utd have until midnight tonight to trigger the clause. If they don’t, Fiorentina will have all the control in demanding the fee they want for Moise Kean.

Al‑Qadsiah and Al‑Hilal previously contacted Kean’s camp, but he never accepted their overtures, underscoring his preference to stay in Europe’s top leagues.

Should Man Utd sign Kean?

After a mixed spell in England with Everton, Kean has resurrected his career at Fiorentina, scoring 25 goals in 44 games, including 19 in Serie A, marking his best season to date.

Currently, the Italian seems to be much more prepared to move to a club like Man Utd.

However, the Red Devils don’t have much time to decide on the 25-year-old. They have had enough time to ponder over whether or not they want the Italian international and this certainly cannot be classified as a “panic buy”.

Ruben Amorim will have to make a concrete decision in the coming hours.

One major concern for Man Utd is that although they have a number of potential transfer targets they want to sign, including Moise Kean, they are unable to move on the players who are no longer under the plans of Ruben Amorim. Thus, it makes it so much more tricky for the English club to trigger Kean’s release clause in one go.

Ultimately, the bottom line is that midnight tonight is the cut‑off for triggering Kean’s clause. If United proceed, they’d secure a proven striker at fair value.

If not, all bets are off as Fiorentina could demand substantially more once the clause lapses.
