The news source have mentioned that Everton are also interested in the South American but they are only thinking about a loan deal, whereas, the Bianconeri want to permanently get rid of the midfielder.
On the other hand, Man Utd are ready to negotiate a loan to buy deal, which is why, they are now in pole position.
United may also have an edge in the deal to sign Luiz considering that Juventus are keen on signing Jadon Sancho from the Premier League side.

Douglas Luiz is a versatile talent, who can effectively play as a deep lying playmaker and also in the advanced No.8 creative midfield role.
The 27-year-old has a proven record in English football with Aston Villa. He directly contributed in 20 goals (10 goals and 10 assists) in the 2023-24 campaign.
