At this point, it is almost impossible to keep track of the number of strikers Manchester United have been linked with so far this summer. It is very clear that the club want a new number nine but who the target preferred target is remains to be answers.
The Red Devils have made solid attacking reinforcements this summer, already. Man Utd have signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, and also managed to ship out Marcus Rashford to Barcelona.
Now, it looks like the next striker target is on Manchester United’s radar. As per Footmercato, the Red Devils have made contact to sign talented French striker Randal Kolo Muani from PSG this summer as he finds himself out of Luis Enrique’s project.
Kolo Muani moved to PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt a couple of seasons ago but wasn’t really given a proper run in the first-team as the starting number nine. The 26-year-old eventually kept falling down the rungs in the pecking order.
Eventually, the French giants decided to loan the French striker out to Juventus for the second half of last season. Kolo Muani ended up having a good time in Turin, scoring 8 goals in 16 appearances also scoring 2 in 3 in the Club World Cup.
Kolo Muani leading the line at Old Trafford?
The PSG striker definitely has the talent to lead the line for a club like Manchester United. The 26-year-old has the experience of knowing where the back of the net is and this certainly helps when the Red Devils are looking for a clinical number nine.
Kolo Muani currently earns around £67,000 a week at PSG. With the player out of PSG’s project, the Ligue 1 giants might be willing to let him go for a very decent fee this summer and Man Utd should be all over the signing.
The next few weeks will provide a clearer picture of whether or not Man Utd pursue a move for the 2022 World Cup runner-up. This is a deal that makes sense at the right financial conditions and let’s wait and see how it plays out.
