Manchester United have splurged quite a bit of cash in reinforcing the attack so far this summer, spending over £100m combined to bring in the likes of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford and Matheus Cunha from Wolves. However, it looks like they might just be getting started.
It is no secret that Ruben Amorim has a squad at his disposal that is much maligned in quality than what one would expect from a club of this reputation.

The Red Devils have a lot of work to do to get back to their glory days but what they can do right now is take baby steps.
As Man Utd strive to reinforce the squad further this summer, one way to do it is by pulling off strategic signings.
One likely option that the Red Devils could deploy is signing players on loan with the option or obligation to buy in the upcoming season.
Now, as per Give Me Sport, Man Utd are lining up a tactical move to sign talented Portuguese play-breaking midfielder Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich this summer and are looking to convince the German club to send him on loan with an option to buy.
Palhinha, who was a Premier League success, has struggled to exert the same kind of influence in the Bundesliga.
Man Utd are looking to put an end to his misery at Bayern but the club are currently looking to move him with a permanent sale this summer and are unlikely to encourage a loan.
Palhinha will bolster Man Utd midfield
Valued at around £26m-£30m, it won’t cost Man Utd much to sign Palhinha permanently this summer but they might want to allocate those funds for other positions.
With Bayern also looking to move the Portuguese midfielder on, there is a good chance the loan deal is accepted, eventually.
Man Utd currently have Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte, both of whom are ball-winning midfielders.
However, the former has been used in a slightly more advanced role in decent times and has thrived there, which could open up a slot alongside Ugarte for a play-breaker like Palhinha.
The next few weeks should provide a clearer picture on what Man Utd can do and can’t do in whatever is remaining of this summer.
Signing Palhinha on the right kind of deal would be a huge win and let’s wait and see if Christopher Vivell & co. can convince Bayern to loan him to Old Trafford this summer.
