Until about a week ago, the name Senne Lammens didn’t have much association with most Manchester United fans, and yet, it looks like maybe it’s time they get used to it.

Throughout the summer, it has been clear that of the many reinforcements that Manchester United desire to make, one of them has to be the goalkeeping position. Ruben Amorim doesn’t seem to have much faith in Andre Onana to do the job going forward.

Of course, the Red Devils also have Altay Bayindir, who hasn’t done much wrong whenever given the chance but for some reason, even he doesn’t seem to be a realistic option for the Portuguese tactician. Onana’s hamstring tear has only further complicated things.

Now, as per an exclusive report from Centre Devils, Senne Lammens, the Royal Antwerp goalkeeper, has given his approval to sign for Manchester United this summer. Thus, the club could push to get this deal over the line.

The 23-year-old has been sitting on the top of Manchester United’s shortlist, along with Emiliano Martinez.

The Aston Villa shot-stopper also continues to garner interest, although things have gone quiet on that front in recent weeks.

Lammens himself admitted recently that he was caught off-guard by Manchester United’s interest in him Here is what he said:

“The first time I heard, I thought, ‘Wow’”. Immediately, a world-renowned team that follows you. That is special. Of course, I was also spoken to about it a lot, and when I made a save in training, it was United this, United that [from colleagues]… It’s only positive.”

Having spoken so highly, it comes as no surprise to see the 23-year-old give his green light to a potential Manchester United move.

However, is Lammens ready to handle the pressure that comes along with a club of the Red Devils’ stature?

The next few days could provide further clarity on whether Man Utd do make a move for the player who is valued at around £13m-£17m.

Let’s wait and see how things play out on this front and if Lammens is the chosen one to be the number one for Ruben Amorim next season.
